For many of us, this is the last week of our winter 2022 stay at Rock Crusher RV Resort. It is a bitter-sweet time to say our good-by’s to our seasonal neighbors. Andre’e and Bill hosted a fish-fry for many of their friends in celebration. They provided the fish which they had caught, right here around Crystal River. The fish were the highlight of the meal, but the accompanying potluck dishes were some of the best I have had in a long time. To think that they were all prepared in the restrictive RV environment, makes the task even more daunting. We will miss all these new friends but look forward to reuniting next winter.

After dinner, most stayed to sit around the campfire and share stories and laugh about past adventures. It was a wonderful way to end our stay here. Now comes the last week of prepping the camper for “summer storage.” We will store it in place here in the campground, but the brutal summer heat and humidity has to be considered when making plans. Our roof is cleaned and resealed and I will be putting a coat of wax on the side walls. The tent shelters need to be taken down and stored away for next season. We will be leaving plants with a self-watering irrigation system and hope they survive.
